Privacy and analytics cookies
How Catalyst uses optional product analytics, and how to control it.
Who is responsible for your data
Smarter Collaboration is the data controller for the analytics described on this page. PostHog, our product analytics provider, processes the data on our behalf as a processor.
What we collect
Only if you accept analytics cookies, we collect:
- the internal ID number of your Catalyst account (not your name or email), so repeat visits can be linked
- your role in Catalyst (for example Firm Lead or SC Admin)
- the ID number of the Firm you are viewing
- the pages you visit, without any search terms or other text in the address
- the buttons and links you click, with all on-screen text and element details hidden
- browser and device information, such as browser type and screen size
- your approximate location, which PostHog works out from your IP address
What we do not collect
- your name, email address or username
- any Firm data, such as partner names, client names or revenue figures
- anything you type into a form
Why we collect it
To understand which parts of Catalyst are used and where people get stuck, so that we can improve the product.
Lawful basis
Your consent. Nothing is collected and no analytics cookies are set unless you click Accept. Rejecting has no effect on how Catalyst works for you.
Where the data is stored
Analytics data is stored by PostHog in the European Union.
How long we keep it
Analytics data is kept for PostHog's standard retention period for our project. [Retention period to be confirmed by Smarter Collaboration.]
Changing your mind
You can accept or withdraw consent at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing stops collection immediately and clears the analytics identifier stored in your browser. Your choice is remembered in this browser only.
